IN OUR SIGHTS: WOLVES AT THE DOOR

WHAT IS IT? A new home invasion thriller, based loosely on the horrifying Manson Family murders that shocked Los Angeles in 1969.

WHY? We used to love Arrow here at TwistedWing, but it has been a while since we last caught up. However, the one character we couldn't bond with was Laurel Lance, played by Katie Cassidy. Well now the Arrow actress is to play a part inspired by actress Sharon Tate, and we're guessing it won't end well for her either.

Known as the Tate murders, the tragic and horrifying event saw members of the Charles Manson cult break into the home of Tate, eight-and-a-half months pregnant, and her new husband, director Roman Polanski (Rosemary's Baby). The director was away on business at the time, but Tate was entertaining three friends. They were all stabbed and shot to death multiple times.

John Leonetti is directing the movie, his previous directorial career includes both Annabelle and, um, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. So who knows which way this will go. The film won't reference the murder spree by name but it certainly makes for unsettling subject matter. There's nothing new about the home invasion set-up but it could still prove to be an unsettling watch.

WHEN? That's a good question. Some websites have it listed as nationwide now, while others have it scheduled for early 2017.
